Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. PixBus has no sign-up and no login. Open it and everything is there.
Why is the arrival time sometimes off?
London publishes predictions, not live bus positions, so the countdown is TfL's best estimate and it moves as traffic does. PixBus never invents a number: when the estimate changes, the board changes with it. Allow a little extra time, and trust the signs at the stop when precision really matters.
Does PixBus track where I am?
No. Location is used once, only when you ask it to find the stop you are standing at, and never in the background. You can switch it off entirely under Settings, and then find your stop by name instead. Bus positions on the map come from arrival predictions, not from your phone.
How do I follow a bus and get an alert?
Tap the LED board at the top. A pill appears underneath showing the bus you are following, and the ✕ on that pill ends it whenever you like. Alerts need notification permission, which PixBus asks for at that moment.
How do I save a stop or a line?
Favourites keeps both. The star on a stop's line list saves that line at that stop, and tapping the bus in the street scene saves the line on its own. The first favourite in the list is the one PixBus opens on.
Is PixBus an official TfL app?
No. PixBus is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Transport for London. Arrival data comes from TfL's public API.
